SCOPE OF CONSTRUCTION WORKS: The project comprises the construction of motorized and non-motorized road facilities. The total road length is 85km comprising of 80 km of estate roads and 5km of road to link the estate with the Mai-Mahiu to Nakuru road. The carriageway (motorized facility) pavement consists of natural gravel subbase while the base will mainly comprise of hand packed stone base supported with side kerbs. The surfacing is of precast concrete paving blocks (cabro blocks) and bitumen. For the non-motorized facilities being walkways, jogging and cycle tracks, a combination of cabro and mazeras stone finishing will be applied. The roads will be complete with street lighting. The drainage works include lining of approximately 40km of side drains with a combination of side slabs, stone pitching and Gilgil stone slates. The objective of the lining was to control erosion and more importantly to trap and channelize run to the golf irrigation dams.
